Summer Sundays

at Cello Acres

Next Date:

We’re a Family-First Homestead Community

Introducing Summer Sundays at Cello Acres—a standing, low-pressure Sunday afternoon for families to gather, let kids run free, and breathe.

Starting Sunday 8/17, 1–5pm, this is a weekly, no-obligation hang for parents and kids. If you’re tired of the over-scheduled grind—or you’re stepping away from it and missing community—this is for you. Come relax while the kids play outside, wild and free.

Bring a food, snack, or beverage if you can (banana bread, fruit, whatever), or come empty-handed—no stress. Drop in anytime; arrive at 3, stay an hour; if it’s flowing, we may go past 5. Invite any family friends who’d appreciate the vibe.

Consider this a blanket every-Sunday invitation. Unless you see a cancellation on the site, FB, or via email/text, assume we’re on. Check the “Next Date” above for the upcoming Sunday and join us for an easy afternoon.

How it works

  • When

    • Sundays, 1–5pm. If you don’t see a cancellation on the site, FB, or via text, assume we’re on.

    • Come-and-go. Arrive late, leave early, or linger if it’s flowing.

  • Where

    • Cello Acres (our homestead). We’ll share any day-of notes (parking, weather tweaks) on the site/text.

  • What this is

    • A low-pressure open gate for families. Kids outside, parents exhale. No RSVP needed.

  • Food & drink

    • Shared table: bring something if you can (banana bread, fruit, chips, a jug of iced tea).

    • Empty-handed is okay if time or budget is tight—please still come.

    • Label common allergens if you bring something (nuts, dairy, eggs, gluten).

  • Pool (summer perk)

    • Above-ground, 12' diameter, 30" deep, salt-water pool—perfect for splashing.

    • Bring bathing suits, and towels if you like.

  • Animals & nature

    • We have chickens—kids can say hi, they are friendly.

    • Our garden is bountiful this time of year, take a walk through; you might be leaving with some produce!

    • Expect grass, dirt, bugs, and weather.

  • Fire pit (later afternoon, weather/wind allowing)

    • A simple campfire to relax or roast marshmallows.

    • We’ll have a few roasting sticks; bring marshmallows/chocolate/graham crackers if you want s’mores; we usually have some on hand, but it’s always good to keep the stockpile up.

  • What to bring (optional)

    • Water bottles, picnic blanket or camp chairs, a snack to share, sun gear, towels, a change of clothes for littles.

    • Yard toys or a ball are great; label your things.

  • Facilities

    • Indoor restroom available. We can set up a quick changing spot for babies/toddlers if needed.

  • Parking & arrivals

    • Park along the driveway/marked areas. Drive slow (kids and chickens).

  • Phones & photos

    • Keep it present and family-forward. If you take photos, please ask before posting identifiable shots of other families.

  • Guests

    • Friends welcome—invite families who’d appreciate the vibe. Share the link.

    • Please ask before bringing pets (we have chickens and lots of small kids).

  • House norms

    • Help us leave it tidy—quick sweep of cups/plates before you head out is appreciated.

  • Weather

    • We’re outdoors-first. Light rain? We may still hang; heavy rain/thunder = likely cancellation.

    • Check the site/announcement bar/text for any last-minute calls.

  • Updates

    • Use the sign-up form on the page for reminders and any same-day changes.

    • The “Next Date” at the top auto-updates—use that as your weekly check.
